Eucalyptus pauciflora, commonly known as Snow Gum, is a resilient and visually striking Eucalypt native to the subalpine regions of eastern Australia. This hardy species is well-adapted to cold climates and is easily recognised by its smooth, mottled bark that transitions in shades of green, grey, and cream as it matures. Young branches are a glossy red, adding seasonal interest, while older trunks often develop a twisted, sculptural form that gives the tree its distinctive character. The broad, waxy leaves are thick and glossy, providing year-round foliage appeal. In the warmer months, Snow Gum produces clusters of elegant white flowers, followed by large, decorative gumnuts. It’s a standout choice for naturalistic plantings, alpine-style gardens, or as a feature tree in cooler climates.
