Ficus elastica burgundy

Rubber Plant

Height | 1500 - 3000 mm

Ficus elastica ‘Burgundy’, commonly known as the Burgundy Rubber Plant, is a bold tropical indoor plant admired for its glossy foliage and strong architectural form. Native to Southeast Asia, this cultivated variety of Ficus elastica is widely used in interior planting for its dramatic colour and upright tree-like structure. The plant produces large, oval-shaped leaves with a thick, leathery texture, displaying deep green to burgundy tones that appear almost black in low light, contrasted by lighter central veins. These leaves emerge along sturdy upright stems, gradually forming a tall, sculptural canopy of dense foliage. Indoors, the Burgundy Rubber Plant typically grows to around 1.5–3 metres in height, depending on light conditions and container size. With its rich foliage colour and refined vertical form, it creates a striking focal point within residential interiors, offices, and contemporary indoor planting schemes.
