Dypsis lutescens, commonly known as the Areca palm, is a graceful tropical plant admired for its feathery foliage and soft, arching form. Native to Madagascar, this species thrives in bright indoor environments and is widely used in interior planting for its light, airy appearance. The plant produces multiple slender, cane-like stems from the base, topped with finely divided fronds in vibrant green tones that gently arch outward, creating a full and flowing canopy. Its layered foliage introduces movement and softness, making it ideal for balancing more structured interior elements. Indoors, Dypsis lutescens typically grows to around 1.5–3 metres in height, forming a tall, elegant feature suitable for floor planters and open-plan spaces.
