The Samoyed is a medium-to-large working breed developed by the Samoyedic peoples of Siberia for herding reindeer, pulling sleds, and providing companionship in cold climates. It is recognised by its dense white or cream double coat, upright ears, curled tail, and characteristic upturned mouth that creates its familiar “Sammy smile.” Friendly, sociable, and energetic, the Samoyed has a substantial, fluffy outline that can help convey realistic animal scale in architectural drawings of homes, gardens, parks, and open spaces.
